Associate, Financial Accountant
Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) – a company working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for an Associate, Financial Accountant to join the Finance team in Melbourne, Australia.
The role
We are looking for a detail-orientated Financial Accountant with a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a professional services environment. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the financial management of the services company as well as working across a range of renewable energy projects. You will work closely with the finance manager to support the financial management, treasury, tax and statutory compliance activities of the AU portfolio.
Responsibilities will further consist of:
- Support the finance manager and leadership in establishing and delivering best-in-class finance processes in the CISC AU to support growth in Australia and the wider Oceania region.
- Liaise with outsourced service providers on various tax, statutory and financial management workstreams (e.g., GST, BAS, payroll tax)
- Ensure accurate provision of inputs and instructions to the outsourced provider for the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate review of management accounts and financial reports prepared by outsourced service providers.
- Liaising with auditors and tax agents to ensure completion of annual audit and tax filing exercises and maintain/update a compliance checklist.
- Assist in the following entity management activities
- Ensure that project entities set up is compliant with statutory requirements and internal policies.
- Support entity establishment/dissolutions plus tax and regulatory registrations/appointments per the intended approved structure by working closely with the advisors and providing KYC and required documentation/information.
- Ensure accounting documents and records are kept up to date as part of review process.
- Review cost allocations for recharges, including invoicing and outstanding receivables follow up.
- Preparation of cash needs forecast with active cashflow management as part of cash and treasury management. Where required, review payments in accordance with delegation of authority.
- Support budgeting and financial controlling initiatives.
- Assist to prepare monthly financial/operational management reporting packs for internal stakeholders.
- Assist and support banking related tasks such as opening of new bank accounts, KYC reviews and Credit Card management

You
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2-3 years experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within a professional services environment
- Currently studying towards CA/CPA qualification
We look for the following in a candidate
- Knowledge of basic accounting/tax principles and financial analysis techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Interest in renewable energy and sustainability initiatives is a plus.
- Must be an Australian Citizen or PR due to this role being permanent
