Procurement Director, PtX Project
Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) - a service provider working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for a Contracting & Procurement Director for large-scale PtX Projects in Northern Europe to join our office in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The role
We are leading the development and construction of Power-to-X (PtX) and CO2 carbon capture projects worldwide. As we enter a high growth stage, we are building a deeply motivated, diverse, and skilled team driven to positively impact the planet. We seek a Contracting and Procurement Manager to lead and be responsible for all procurement-related initiatives on our PtX hydrogen projects in Denmark and Europe.
The position will report directly to the Project Director for the Fjord Project and will primarily be based in our main office in Copenhagen or at the project office in Aalborg, with occasional travel required. It is part of a balanced matrix organization, and you will also refer to the functional manager of our Power-to-X Platforms Procurement & Contracting team, taking an active role in building our competencies across projects.
This role will involve developing and implementing procurement strategies for cutting-edge projects in the green energy transition, including the construction of hydrogen plants. You will work closely with project management and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all procurement activities and contracts are carried out efficiently and professionally.
Responsibilities will further consist of:
Develop Procurement Strategies: Create and execute procurement and contract management strategies to support project objectives and financing.
- Manage Procurement Activities: Oversee procurement strategies and schedules across all project packages to ensure timelines are met.
- Lead Contract Negotiations: Negotiate large CAPEX under Lump Sum Turnkey terms, strategic supply and development contracts, and contracts to support the long-term operation of the plant. Liaise with legal experts and subject matter authorities.
- Enhance Supplier Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Build and Mentor Teams: Lead and inspire a skilled team of procurement and contract managers to foster high performance.
- Take an active role in building our functional competencies and enhancing learning across projects.

You
You should have at least 10 years of relevant experience in supply chain development within large-scale projects, ideally from the oil, gas, or refinery industries. Experience with international EPC contracts and O&M contracts, as well as license agreements, will reflect the global nature of our supply chain. You must demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse procurement team. Furthermore, you should have excellent negotiation and communication skills and be able to collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to these qualifications, the ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in international EPC contracts, reflecting the global nature of our supply chain.
- Familiarity with project financing requirements and engagement with Export Credit Agencies (ECA) is a favorable asset.
- Effective negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders.
You should also be a strategic thinker with market-specific business insight who can understand value and risk drivers in large projects. A clear, pragmatic attitude and a willingness to achieve goals are essential. Moreover, you are a highly responsible and motivated individual who thrives in a highly effective and innovative environment.
