Procurement Director, PtX Project

Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) - a service provider working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for a Procurement Director for large scale PtX Projects in Northern Europe to join our office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

 

The role

We are leading the development and construction of Power-to-X (PtX) projects and CO2 carbon capture projects worldwide. As we enter a stage of high growth, we are building a deeply motivated, diverse, and skilled team driven to positively impact the planet. We seek a Procurement Director to lead and be responsible for all procurement-related initiatives on our PtX project Fjord in Denmark.

The position will be with direct reference to the Project Director for our Fjord Project and primarily based in our main office in Copenhagen or at the Project Office in Aalborg, but also travelling as required. We are organized in a balanced matrix organization where you will also refer to the functional manager of our Power-to-x Platforms Procurement & Contracting team and take an active role in building our competences and learnings across projects.

The workload and travel activity will vary, and flexibility is therefore expected from both sides. We work in a dynamic environment with frequent changes, so a positive can-do attitude is valued. You will be given the opportunities to influence your daily routine and schedule.

 

Responsibilities will further consist of:

  • Develop Procurement Strategies: Create and execute procurement and contract management strategies to support project objectives and financing.
  • Manage Procurement Activities: Oversee procurement strategies and schedules across all project packages to ensure timelines are met.
  • Lead Contract Negotiations: Negotiate large CAPEX under Lumpsum Turnkey terms, strategic supply, and development contracts as well as contracts to support the long-term operation of the plant. Liaising with legal experts and subject matter authorities.
  • Enhance Supplier Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Build and Mentor Teams: Lead and inspire a skilled team of procurement and contract managers to foster high performance.
  • Take an active role in building our functional competences and enhance learnings across projects

You

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • A degree in commercial law, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in supply chain development within large-scale projects, preferably in refineries, oil & gas, or similar industries.
  • Experience with international EPC and O&M contracts as well as license agreements, reflecting the global nature of our supply chain.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and inspire a diverse team of procurement professionals.

In addition to these qualifications, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Familiarity with project financing requirements and engagement with Export Credit Agencies (ECA) is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

A proactive, can-do attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile are essential. Moreover, you are a responsible and motivated individual who thrives in a highly effective and innovative environment.
