Senior Associate, HSE Officer
Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) - a service provider working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for a Senior Associate, HSE Officer to join the ESG Team in our office in Mumbai, India.
The role
The HSE specialist will be in charge of ensuring that health, safety, environmental, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) concerns are properly handled for both current and upcoming projects. They'll also be responsible for identifying and addressing potential risks at project sites, making sure that all local regulations and company standards are followed.
Responsibilities will further consist of:
- Assist in ESG functions within CISC and CIP.
- Screen ESG and HSE risks during construction and O&M phases.
- Contribute to ESG and HSE budgeting for projects.
- Coordinate with ESG consultants and engage with financial lenders.
- Collaborate with EPC and O&M teams for ESG data collection and reporting.
- Define and implement HSE requirements during all project phases.
- Ensure design deliverables meet safety and environmental standards.
- Evaluate contractors’ HSE qualifications during tendering.
- Prepare, review, and revise HSE documentation.
- Implement initiatives to improve HSE performance.
- Develop and monitor HSE standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Conduct site visits and internal HSE inspections.
- Investigate incidents and implement risk control measures.
- Organize HSE review meetings and promote a safety culture.
- Adhere to relevant regulations and report non-compliances.
- Prepare periodic ESG and HSE KPI reports.

You
- At least 7 years of experience in construction site health and safety management, specializing in civil infrastructure projects(especially renewable energy)
- Environmental Engineering background with HSE qualifications.
We look for the following in a candidate
- Extensive experience in wind and solar projects.
- In-depth knowledge of IFC, ADB, and international standards.Proven experience with financial lenders.
- Expertise in safety assessments and risk management.
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 training; NEBOSH accreditation is a plus.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently within India and periodic travel to international offices (when needed).
- Physically fit for construction site work.
