Senior Commercial Manager, PtX Projects
Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) - a service provider working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for a Senior Commercial Manager for large-scale PtX Projects in Northern Europe to join our office in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The role
We seek a Senior Commercial Manager to direct and be responsible for all commercial-related activities on our Fjord PtX in Aalborg, Denmark.

Responsibilities will consist of:
- Lead the strategy, negotiation, and execution of offtake Head of Terms and subsequent long-form agreements for eSAF, eNaphtha, oxygen, and excess heat in close interaction with the project's technical maturation.
- Led the negotiation and execution of intake Head of Terms and subsequent long-form CO2 and Technical Water agreements with municipality-owned companies.
- Lead the strategy, negotiation, and execution of power purchase agreements in close coordination with the plant's technical configuration.
- Monitor and contribute regulatory plans at the Danish and EU levels, ensuring compliance and advocating for the project.
- Coordinate key commercial activities with CIP experts and external partners, oversee the project business case, and provide commercial insights to the Fjord Project Management Team.
- Prepare submissions for the upcoming Innovation Fund round and other identified Danish and/or European support scheme.
- Assist the Project Director in Board/Steering Committee preparations and reporting.
Main stakeholders:
- Members of the Fjord Project Management team and report to the Project Director
- CIP Energy Transition Fund (ETF) Investment Team, the fund dedicated to PtX projects worldwide.

You
To be successful in this role, you should possess strong stakeholder management and external engagement skills, which include the ability to effectively communicate and establish trust-based relationships with a diverse range of external counterparties, such as municipality-owned companies, international airlines, major oil suppliers, relevant industry organizations, and Danish and EU public officials.
Additionally, you should be capable of analyzing intake, offtake, and regulatory aspects to present and support meaningful commercial decisions related to the project. Being a great team player is also essential for collaboration and achieving shared goals.
In addition to these qualifications, the ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in commercial law, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
- Significant experience in new value chain development, primarily in refineries, oil & gas, or similar industries.
- Proven leadership skills with a proven ability to develop and inspire a diverse team of commercial professionals.
You should also be a strategic thinker with market-specific business insight who can understand value and risk drivers in large projects. A clear, pragmatic attitude and a willingness to achieve goals are essential. Moreover, you are a highly responsible and motivated individual who thrives in a highly effective and innovative environment.

- Solid experience with Excel and PowerPoint
- Comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in Danish and English, both verbal and written, as well as great communication skills
